HMS Warspite which was built in 1893 and scrapped in 1940 by the Castle shipbreaking Company in Baltic Wharf, London. Brass and ivorine labels with details.
An original mahogany ship’s side table with cast iron base. The three legs having through bolt holes for fixing to the deck. A rare piece to find in this kind of condition.
An original 1930's Robert Thompson, the 'Mouseman' dining table. Robert Thompson ran his workshops from Kilburn, Lancashire, England, from around 1919 and initially made church furniture but then went on to make all types of furniture for large homes.
Traditionally made with the trademark adzed oak top and long tailed carved mouse signature to the leg. This table has its original patination and is truly a wonderful colour and example of old Mouseman furniture, not to be confused with later 1960's/1970's pieces. These early pieces are now highly collectable and sought after.
Betty Joel top designer of the 30's sold in Harrods and from her own showroom at the time.
Signed pieces are fairly rare, even rarer in Holm oak, an evergreen oak with the lovely rays in the grain.
