Born around 1881 ,Guy Lipscombe was in charge of the Art Department for ‘The Motor’ magazine from 1903, and illustrated over 40 front covers for that magazine and ‘Autocar‘ magazine, and then went on to become a war artist in WW1.
He spent much time holidaying in St. Mawes Cornwall where he regularly painted harbours, sea views, cottages and beautiful ladies !

An English Victorian pottery stone funghi group by LEFCo: The Leeds Fireclay Company which also founded the famous Burmantofs factory in Leeds. Dating from around 1890 this piece is exceptionally rare.

This is the sign that would have been displayed outside a Chemist shop in 1850-1870. It is of course, a model of a pestle and mortar. The contruction is solid wood which is turned but with a zinc or lead hammered cover to the top. These are now very rare.
