Welcome to my site.
I set up Andrew Nebbett Antiques in 1985 when I was a much younger man ! I have lived and breathed it every day since then and have learned so much along the way. One thing that always stands out to me is quality, and that is what I strive for every day. I try to find the best designs and models of everything so please take a look at my latest finds.
Thank you for looking.
All the best
Andy Nebbett

An 18th Century Zodiac clock face 2ft 6ins across Print E-mail

This is the hand painted face from an 18th Century external Zodiac clock which would have been in a town hall clock paired with a moon phase clock of similar size. The face is made in heavy hand hammered copper and the painting is of top quality original 18th century. c1730-50. The form of the Taurus rampant bull is depicted in a representation of the constellation Taurus from an 18th century star atlas drawing. I have taken close ups of the individual star signs which measure about 6 inches by 6 inches.
The detail of the painting is extremely fine. The dial is mounted on a plate and can turn freely, standing 1.75 inches off the wall. This is only the face and has no mechanism. I have kept this in my own collection for several years. Please do ask for more pictures if you are interested.

Condition: Very good original condition, usual patination and signs of age.
Specifications: Depth: 1.75 inches, Diameter: 30 inches

Period: 18th Century
Materials/Techniques: Hand beaten copper face, original 18th century paint.

A Victorian industrial table c1850 Print E-mail

This is a beautiful 1850's heavy duty cast iron machine table base to which we have added a period 1850's stone top. We have not cut the top which is original with its 4 curved corners. The top is solid Yorkshire stone, not re-constituted. The quality of casting the base is very high quality indeed. We have polished the base and sealed it with laquer The cast iron feet have leather pads so as not to damage a wooden floor.
We have set it at an eating height of just under 31 inches, therefore this table could be used in a kitchen or conservatory situation or as a side table/desk.
: Height: 31inches, Width: 66inches, Depth: 36 inches
