A carved lime and hardwood coat of arms c1780

Title: A carved lime and hardwood English coat of arms c1780.
Country: United Kingdom

This stunning coat of arms is beautifully hand carved. The depictions represent the link between two families one French and one English shown by the Fleurs de Lys and the Tudor Rose. The helmet represents significant bravery in a battle for which the family received a Royal honour probably a lordship or knighthood. We have been unable to put an exact name to the family, as this is extremely hard to do.
The paint is all original with some wear through in places.
Coats of arms from this period are very rare indeed.

Condition: Some wear through paint in places.
Paint on back crackling with age.
No parts broken or missing.
Generally very good condition.
Height: 34 inches, Width: 31 inches, Depth: 4 inches
