Title: A Swedish Biedermeier Longcase clock
Country: Sweden

The movement is 8 day weight driven and strikes the hour with a two tone chime. We have had the movement serviced and it keeps excellent time. The original glass face is domed. The cabinet is made in pine and veneered in figured birch. It would stand very well in a cool modern interior, or in a full antique setting it is so clean in its design.

An 18th century zinc topped wine table Print E-mail
Mahogany Furniture

This unusual table was made around 1780/90 and has its original zinc top. It is my understanding that it was used as a side table in conjunction with a wine cooler/cellarette  wherby the butler could use it to open  bottles of wine and remove ice from the bottles prior to serving. I have never seen another one even in a  museum or country house. The  oak drawer would have been used for corkscrews and ancillary tools.  The  brass handle is original.
Sizes are approx  32 inches long  22 inches deep and  31 inches high.

A Victorian boardroom table from a shipping office 8ft across Print E-mail
Light Oak Furniture
This fabulous table was made sometime between 1870 and 1890. The legs are all solid English oak, and the top is English oak veneered.  The centre of the table has a 2ft inlaid compass rose showing all the points of the compass including the now little used  'West by North', etc. When aligned by a real compass, of course, all the points would then be accurate.  The table was made for a shipping office boardroom in the North of England but sadly I do not know which one. There are twelve drawers for the twelve partners. The table is 8ft across and 29.5 inches tall but comes in three parts. The top in two parts for easy moving. This is a unique piece of maritime history which would work just as well as a large dining table as a boardroom table.
